Welcome to the Internet Home of Jabulani_® Rhodesian Ridgebacks!

Hi... I'm Kate Borst and Jabulani to you.  Jabulani means "be happy" in the African language of Ndebele.  This is what our kennel is about.  We are a small, private hobby kennel and have been in existence since 1987.  Today, Jabulani Rhodesian Ridgebacks_® are seen competing in many areas.

The Jabulani line evolved out of Freland Rhodesian Ridgebacks during the mid-80's.  Over the years, I have chosen to outcross my kennel to other Rhodesian Ridgeback lines when I have desired to define or refine my kennel line in a certain way.  You will see these outcrosses on my "Reference Sires" page under "Our Dogs."

As a hobby kennel, Jabulani Rhodesian Ridgebacks_® has received numerous awards and recognition from the Rhodesian Ridgeback Club of America (RRCUS).  Over the years, these awards have included: multiple Top Breeder awards, Top Stud Dog awards, Top Brood Bitch awards, Register Of Merit awards, and awards in the Triathlon at the Rhodesian Ridgeback Nationals -- to name a few.

To date, Jabulani has championed nearly 40 dogs in AKC conformation and has had multiple lure coursing Field Champion titles -- including multiple Best in Field honors.  Today, Jabulani dogs are also competing for titles in agility, obedience, canine good citizen, therapy dog, and tracking.  As a small kennel, I am very proud of our record.

I hope you will come and visit us for an afternoon of educational Rhodesian Ridgeback videos and conversation. Seeing Rhodesian Ridgebacks in their environment and meeting their breeders will help you to make a sound choice for your future companion. But don't take my word for it; I encourage you to speak with many breeders so you feel comfortable with your decision.
